AGASTYA SCIENCE CENTRE

We have established Agastya Science Centre on 28 Feb 2020 to teach science through experiments with several Teaching Learning Materials and models. This was supplied by Agastya International Foundation, Kuppam/ Bangalore. This facility is also accessible to nearby primary schools and High Schools. We can expect a big boost to science learning. The cost of this project is Rs. 10 Lakhs, which could be raised mainly with support of our Alumni from India and USA, and some retired Army Officers.

This Science Lab enhances science knowledge through hands on learning. This gives experiential learning opportunities. Science fairs are regularly organized and various stalls are managed by students and students from nearby Primary Schools and High Schools are visiting regularly and parents are also invited during science fairs.

The students are developing curiosity, creativity and inquisitiveness.

We added Agastya Mathematics Lab and Lab-on Bike during March 2022 to the existing Agastya Science Lab. A well trained science teacher will visit 10-12 primary schools to teach important topics to primary school children. We expect to cover about 1000 primary school students.

We also have to plan to add Agastya Electronics Lab and an Innovation Hub during Academic year 2023-24.

Activities of the year – 2021-22

During the academic year 2021-22, we took special initiatives taking better faculty and students to improve results in 1st & 2nd Intermediate sections.

We have also done activities like Modifications of two class rooms of intermediate sections, Procurement of Math’s Lab and Lab on Bike equipments of Agastya Foundation, Construction of wash rooms for boys, Modification of existing class rooms (2 No.s) to virtual class rooms, purchase of new Xerox machine, Installation and implementation of tally software, provided Scholarship for meritorious students during the academic year 2021-22.

Activities of the year – 2022-23

During the academic year 2022-23, by induction of new teachers in the previous year resulted in very good results in 1st and 2nd year Inter exams. We have also done activities like Construction of Pylon on the occasion of Centenary Celebrations, Buildings renovation work and up gradation, Conducted training program for Armed force/Police dept. recruitment, Procurement of Smart digital board for intermediate class room, Procurement of Smart digital board for high school section, Procured new bus for transportation of college students of rural areas.

Activities of the year – 2023-24

We now have very good strength of students with high percentage of marks during the academic year 2023-24. We have also done key activities for development of our college like  Conducted Bridge course for 10th class students of Vetapalem for 40 days, Procurement and installation of new CC TV cameras in College, Conducted EAMCET training program for intermediate students for about 45 days, Construction of vehicle parking shed, Procurement of new invertors for digital smart boards, Construction of new girls wash rooms with the support of ITC, Construction of Mid day meals shed (kitchen & store room) for high school students, Conducted spoken English classes for high school students, Conducted training program for Armed force/Police dept. recruitment,  given Scholarships for meritorious students.

Activities of the year – 2024-25

We now have very good strength of students with high percentage of marks during the academic year 2024-25. We have done activities like procurement of new  benches for intermediate class rooms, Procurement and installation of new 20 kv solar panels in our college to meet the demand of electricity consumption of our college, Arranged new rain harvesting pits (6 nos.) in college ground and campus, Arranged 3 no.s new solar street lights in college ground, Up gradation of computer lab, Conducted CA foundation course with the support of My Career point, Chennai, Construction of new compound wall in our college (north side),  Procurement of Van for transportation of rural students and given Scholarship for meritorious students.

We have arranged online spoken English program for class 8 & 9 students. With the help of Pratham Foundation. For a duration of 4 months.
